Workplace & Collaboration, chapter 68 of 68
Workplace & Collaboration Glossary
Every workplace software term by part: business, tenancy, chat, meetings, docs, work management, design, search and AI, security, law firms and platform.
Workplace software borrows its words from consumer chat, document editing, IT administration, project management, records law and law practice, and the same word shifts with context: a member is a person inside one workspace while an account is the person everywhere, a board is a Kanban view of work items in one part and an infinite canvas in another, a hold suspends deletion for a lawsuit and a screen keeps a lawyer away from a matter, and "external" means a guest in one chapter and another organization's federated users in the next. Entries are grouped by the part of the volume that explains them, alphabetized within each group, and each is one line and a link to the chapter that owns the idea; a word with two meanings appears once per meaning, qualified. The volume's own names for the core records (organization, workspace, domain, account, member, group, container, item, item version, grant, share link, plan, subscription, seat assignment, app, app installation, API token, audit event, retention policy, legal hold, hold custodian) are the ones in The Core Data Model.
